SELECTION PROCEDURE:
(a) Short listing of Applications- Short listing criteria will be based on higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and the qualifying cut off for a particular branch or centre may be increased more than 60% if more applications with higher % are received.
Stage -I
(b) Preliminary Selection . Shortlisted candidates will be called for Preliminary Selection at given date and time which will consist of Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). The aptitude test will be in English only and will be objective type. During PP&DT the candidates are expected to speak and discuss in English. However they are free to speak in Hindi if they wish to do so.   Date/ time and venue of Preliminary Selection once allotted will not be changed at any stage.
Candidates are required to appear at the Venue with the following documents:-
1) Two copies of computer generated pre-filled online application form with recent colour passport size photo affixed. 
2)Original pass certificate and mark sheet of 10th class.
3) Original pass certificate and mark sheet of 12th examination.
4) Original Degree Certificate with all semester / years mark sheets of BE /BTech /Graduation with CPA/GPA conversion for percentage marks from university.
5) Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, voter I card, college ID card or any other photo identity proof.
6) Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt. of India format for OBC and State for SC/ST candidates.  
7)Current and Valid Commercial Pilot License (approved by DGCA) in original for Asst Commandant CPL entry only.
8)Character certificate.

Note-(i) Candidates completed their Degree in 2015 must be in possession of Original / Provisional Degree issued by the University and Candidates completed their Degree in and before 2014 must be in possession of Original Degree issued by the University. 
(ii) If not the candidate must be in a possession of "Non issuance of Degree Certificate" issued / signed from the concerned University only. No candidates will be permitted to appear in PSB without above documents in Original.
(iii) The CGPA should be corroborated with 60% of the total marks as issued from the University.

Stage -II
(c) Final Selection.
will The candidates qualifying above Preliminary Selection will be called for Final Selection. The date and venue for Final Selection Board (FSB) be uploaded on
www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in Indian Coast Guard website The Final Selection will consist of Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test).
(d) Medical. All candidates recommended by Final Selection Board will undergo Medical examination at nearest Military Hospital. Candidates for         GD (P/N) and CPL will undergo medical at AFCME, Delhi / IAM, Bengaluru.
(e) PABT & CPSS-
GD (Pilot) candidates on qualifying FSB will be required to appear for PABTand CPSS at Dehradun / Mysore AFSBs. Those already qualified PABT & CPSS are to provide details of batch, Chest number and place while filling up PIQ forms during FSB. 
(f) Validity of Selection-
The candidate's selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only. Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final merit list will have no rights for automatic selection for the next batch. Such candidates will have to undergo the selection procedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh batch. 
(g) Reasons for Rejection-
The Candidature of a candidate can be rejected at any time during the process of selection if
    (i) Having detected not meeting any of the above laid down criteria/ conditions of educational qualifications, age, submission of wrong information in the application or false certificates etc.
    (ii) Act of indiscipline activities including Copying, Cheating, Malpractices or data recording during any of the testing procedures.
(h) Merit List-
Qualifying the FSB or Recommendation in FSB does not confirm final selection. A merit list is prepared for the medically fit candidates on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates at FSB and depending on the availability of vacancies. The number of vacancies may vary from branch to branch and will be decided at a later date depending on the number of training vacancies available at the training establishments. The list of candidates selected on the basis of merit list will be uploaded in Coast Guard recruitment website

MEDICAL STANDARDS:
1. Height:
(i)  Asst Commandant (GD) and Technical : 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
(ii)   Asst Commandant (Pilot) and Asst Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders for Short Service Appointment (Men/Women) :  162.5cms and maximum 197 cms,
leg length minimum 99 cms
(iii)  Asst Commandant General duty (Women) : 152 cms.
2.Weight:
Portionate to the Height and Age, + Minimum 162.5  10 % acceptable.
3. Chest:
Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.
4. Eye sight:
(i) Asst Commandant (GD),GD(Women) - 6/6  6/9 – Uncorrected without Glass. and Asst Comdt 6/6   6/6  - Corrected with Glass.
(ii)   Asst Commandant GD(P/N)/CPL Holders SSA    -  6/6  in one eye and 6/9 in other correctable to 6/6.
  (iii)     Asst Commandant (Tech)  - 6/36  6/36 – Uncorrected without Glass.  6/6   6/6  - Corrected with Glass.

1.         Applications would be invited from unmarried candidates who fulfill eligibility condition of Nationality as laid down by the Government of India for grant of Permanent Commission (PC) in Executive (GS) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Executive and Technical Branches of the Indian Navy under University Entry Scheme (UES), for course commencing June 2016.

2.         Online Registration/Campus interview.      The advertisement inviting online application is scheduled to be published in leading dailies/Employment News in Jun 15. The campus selection/interviews for eligible candidates for this course are being scheduled in the month of Jul-Nov 15.

3.         Educational Qualifications. Applicant should be studying in the final year (4th / 5th year) in an AICTE recognised university with one of the following disciplines and should have obtained a minimum of 60 % aggregate marks (till VIth semester for BE/BTech and VIII semester for 5 years Integrated Degree Course): -

4.         Age.               19 to 24 years as on 01 July 2015 (i.e. born between 02 Jul 1991 to 01 Jul 1996 both dates inclusive).
Terms & Conditions of Service

5.         The individual who are granted PC will be entitled to the full basic pay of the rank, while those granted SSC will be entitled to half the basic pay of the rank, for the period from date of appointment to date of reporting for training at Naval Academy. This will be payable as a lump-sum as stipend at the time of joining INA, Ezhimala for training.

6.    Candidates of SSC for GS(X) and GS(Tech) will serve for 12 years, extendable to 14 year. The extension is subject to service requirements and performance/ willingness of candidates. However, for Pilot/Observer/Tech(Submarine) the term of SSC is 14 years  with no extension.

Selection Procedure

7.         The eligible candidates will appear before a Naval Campus Selection Team for interview. The candidates qualifying the campus interview will be shortlisted for SSB interview based on the merit.

8. Cost to Company (CTC). The CTC for a Sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs 74,100/- to 90,600/- per month. This includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade pay, Military Service Pay, House Rent Allowances and Transport allowance. These rates are not statutory and are subject to change.

9. Privileges. Free Medical Facilities for Self &Dependants, LTC, Canteen Facilities, Entitled Ration,Mess/Club/Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation & Car/Housing Loan at subsidised rate whilst in service.

10. Group Insurance & Gratuity.    Insurance cover of Rs. 50 lakhs (on contribution) for all commissioned officer and Rs. 57 lakhs for Pilot/Observer and Submariners. Gratuity will be granted to the officer as per the latest rules in force.

11. Leave Entitlements.         Officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year. Free travel for self and family every year as per extant rules by air/rail as per rank.

12. Adventure & Sports.       The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hang gliding, wind surfing etc.
